1. What The Sensei is, and isn't
The Sensei is an AI-powered education counsellor that helps you discover and compare online degree programmes from UGC-approved Indian universities. We surface programme information, fees, and recognition details from publicly available sources.
The Sensei is not:
- An admissions authority. Universities decide admissions, not us.
- An accredited institution. We do not issue degrees.
- A guarantee of placement, salary, or outcome.
- A substitute for verifying information directly with the university before enrolling.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use The Sensei. By using the Service you confirm you are 18 or above and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about yourself when chatting with the counsellor. Inaccurate inputs lead to inaccurate shortlists.
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes related to your own education planning.
- Don't impersonate someone else, attempt to disrupt the Service, scrape it programmatically without permission, or use it to harass others.
- Keep your phone number and any authentication credentials secure.
4. AI-generated content and accuracy
The counsellor uses large language models (LLMs) to generate responses. While we ground every fact in our partner data and verify pricing against official university sources, AI systems can still make mistakes.
Always verify critical decisions. Final fees, eligibility, admission deadlines, recognition status. Verify directly with the university's official website or admissions team before enrolling or paying any money. Information on The Sensei is for your reference, not a binding offer.
5. Partner data accuracy
Programme information, fees, and credentials shown on The Sensei are sourced from partner universities' official websites and verified by our team on the dates shown ("Fee data verified [date]" on programme cards). Universities may update their fees or programme details at any time without notice to us.
6. Independence from partner universities
The Sensei is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, owned by, or officially endorsed by any of the universities we feature unless explicitly stated. We refer to them by name solely to discuss their publicly available programmes. All university trademarks belong to their respective owners.
7. Payments
Some partner programmes support in-chat payment via Razorpay. When you make a payment, you enter into a contract directly with the partner university, not with us. We facilitate the technical collection of payment; refunds, payment disputes, and admissions decisions are between you and the university. Refer to each university's own refund policy before paying.
8. Intellectual property
The Sensei's name, logo, design, codebase, content (including blog posts and original commentary), and all other materials are owned by Booleshop Private Limited or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or commercially exploit them without written permission.
You retain ownership of any information you share with us through the chat. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to use that information to deliver the Service and improve it in anonymised form.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the recommendations will match your subjective sense of fit. Educational outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Booleshop Private Limited and its directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to INR 1,000 or the total amount you have paid us (excluding payments routed to partner universities), whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Booleshop Private Limited harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves or regulations change. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of The Sensei after changes constitutes acceptance.
